Patience

If you could go back in history, and compare any given era to our own, you would be stunned at the changes. There are lots of new inventions, innovations, and services.

Our era is known as the fastest growing in technology. Look at some of the inventions: the airplane, car, television, cell phone, microwave oven, computer, digital cameras, cable tv, internet, and satellites. All of these have something in common… they make our lives easier. This is good in a way, but all of these technological advances have made us into an impatient society. Yes! I said impatient. We have gotten used to the idea of getting everything fast. Here are some examples: Instant coffee, microwavable dinners, e-mails, non-stop flights. I could go on and on with this.

We want everything quick. I, for one, don’t like traffic. I can’t stand bumper to bumper traffic (I wish someone would invent instant travel). How many times have you been in traffic screaming at the person in-front of you, because he’s not going fast enough? Then you finally pass that person, just to get behind someone else, and the whole thing starts again. Or, how about this… being in line at a fast-food restaurant, and the person in-front of you has been there for five minutes. You would think this person has made up his/her mind about the choice of food. But, to your surprise he/she was too busy scrolling through some videos on social media, he/she forgot to make a decision on the menu. So, now you become impatient, and sometimes we lose our cool and start to complain. The problem with this is that we start to get angrier, not knowing the consequences that this could bring. you can see it all over the news and social media. When someone becomes impatient, anger settles in. When anger takes over, there’s no telling of what may happen.

So, here’s something so simple to do, and it does work. This technique has work for many years. Count to ten, when you get to ten, thank God for not losing your patient. By the time you do this, chances are that the person in-front of you might be done ordering, and now it’s your turn.

I know this sound simple, but it works. Try it and share it with family and friends. We can all benefit from this simple technique in life.

“God’s Spirit makes us loving, happy, peaceful, Patient, kind, good, faithful, gentle, and self-controlled. There is no law against behaving in any of these ways”.

Galatians 5:22-23

Focus

It all begins with an idea.

Picture this scenario for a moment: two people are making their promises to spend the rest of their lives together in marriage, the preparations were made a year in advance; the church, the banquet hall, the band, the food, the guests, the photographer… get my point? Everything is supposed to be perfect, and the photographer is the one making sure that they will have lots of pictures to remember that day for years to come. Now imagine this: what would happen if the newlywed couple got their pictures and found out that every single one of their pictures was out of FOCUS… Wow, I wouldn’t want to imagine the couple’s reaction. This would be a terrible thing, no pictures to remember such a memorable day. So, who’s to blame for this catastrophe? *The photographer* of course!!! His goal was to take the best and most memorable pictures of that special day. But, distractions caused the photographer to loose the focus of his goals, and he didn’t even notice it until it’s was too late.

I know this is a drastic example, but it actually helps me to prove my point. We’ve all been there. We set goals for the day, month, and even the year, but somehow we get distracted and loose focus of our goals and before you know it; our goals start to look dimmer and dimmer. Allow me to give you an example: at the beginning of the year you set a goal of saving an X amount of money for the whole year… two weeks go by and you’re at the store and it just happens that the TV you’ve always wanted is on sale (distraction) you decide to purchase the TV and forget about the “savings” goal you had.

This is the reason why you should always keep goals in front of you, so you never loose focus of them. The more you focus on your goals, the better your chances are of accomplishing them. This works in every area of your life: family, friendships, workplace, health, weight control, etc.

Focus on the areas of your life that you would like to improve, and don’t allow room for distraction. I honestly believe that Distraction is the worst enemy of Focus.

I don’t mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection. But I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me. No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I FOCUS on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.

Goals

It all begins with an idea.

I had no idea how I was going to start this tip…then a thought came to mind; If I was to get onto a plane and fly down south, not having a destination, what would happen to me after 5 or 6 hours? Chances are that I would run out of fuel, and ultimately crash.

Life without goals is somewhat similar to the example above. Regardless of your accomplishments, if you don’t have ultimate goals in your life, there’s going to be a day when you will feel confused, discouraged, and even depressed… all because of you not having something to look forward to (ultimate goals).

I think that you should become more aware of the importance of setting short and long term goals in your life. Here’s an example on how to set a goal and how to accomplish it: say, you want to buy a House in 1 Year <<<<<< this is you goal for a year. Now, in order to accomplish that goal you have to set monthly goals (this includes: earnings and spending habits). Then, you set weekly goals (working hours including over time) in order to accomplish your monthly goals. Now, do the same for daily goals.

Here’s the most important thing about setting goals; WRITE THEM DOWN ON PAPER, and check them periodically. No! It’s not enough to know your goals by heart. You must write them down-If you don’t; chances are that you’ll never accomplish them.

Make it a priority to check the progress of your goals every morning.

Come on! I dare you to set some goals and accomplish them. Start with little ones, and then go on to bigger and better ones.

“I run toward the goal, so that I can win the prize of being called to heaven. This is the prize that God offers because of what Christ Jesus has done.”

Laughter

It all begins with an idea.

When was the last time you had a real good laugh? Was it because some one told you a good joke? Was it because of a comedy movie, or was it a comedian you saw on television? Was it something your three year old kid did?

It has been proven by doctors and psychologists that a good dose of laughter a day helps you stay healthy. Somehow laughter helps you release some of the tension of a stressful day, and it also keeps you in a positive attitude.

It’s 2:17am, and I’m laughing at the fact that I’m writing about laughter at this time of the day. I for one love to laugh; I love comedy movies, shows, sketches, books, etc. One of my favorite television programs has to be The Three Stooges, even though I’ve seen every episode hundreds of times I still laugh at them. As I sit here writing this, a lot of thoughts go through my mind about this subject. Think about this for a moment: people get paid a lot of money to make people laugh, and people pay a lot of money to have someone make them laugh.  Now, let me ask you this: is this subject important to you? It has to be, it’s the difference between a bright day and a dark one. Did you know that you’re in charge of assigning emotions to whatever circumstances you’re going through?

If I was to tell you that you will live longer by laughing more… would you laugh more? Stop taking everything so serious and have big laughs more often. I’m not suggesting you become a laughing hyena and laugh at anything and everything. I’m simply suggesting a little more laughter.

I know two people (my dad and my uncle to be exact) when they sit in front of a television to watch The Bugs Bunny and Road Runner show (cartoons) you’ll know what laughter is all about. If you are not aware of their laughter (loud, but contagious) you’re in for a surprise. I grew up in this family and still sometimes if I’m not aware they scare the living daylights out of me, and yes before you know it you’re laughing with them.

If it sounds like I’m repeating myself when I say this, is because I want you to get the point. Stop being so serious about everything, even the Bible says “there is time to laugh”  why not? I dare you to put more laughs and less anger in your marriage, family, friendships, church, workplace, social clubs, etc.

“A happy heart is good medicine and a cheerful mind works healing, but a broken spirit dries up the bones”

                                                                                             Proverbs 17:22

Blog Post Title Four

It all begins with an idea.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.

Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.
